Amanda Long is an active member of our community. She has volunteered for local nonprofit boards such as the PTA and the Harvest Hub. She regularly volunteers at the local Farmer’s Market, and she has written a food column for the Nevada Appeal since 2009. Amanda is an Online Digital Marketing Strategist. Her hobbies include photography, reading, and cooking. She has three kids who frequent the library and regularly use its resources.
She was appointed to the Library Board of Trustees in March 2017. She was reappointed to serve again in June 2017. Her term expires June 2021.
Nick CranstonTrustee (Vice Chair)
Nicholas Cranston is an active member of our community. He works for the State of Nevada Public Employees’ Benefits program as an I.T. Professional and uses his knowledge of I.T. Security to assist the library. His hobbies are reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors. Nicholas is an avid believer that literature expands the way we think and betters the life of the reader.
He was appointed to the Library Board of Trustees in July 2018. His term expires June 2022.
Phyllis Patton is an active member of the Friends of the Carson City Library. As a former member of the Library Board of Trustees between 2003 and 2011, Mrs. Patton is knowledgeable about how the library operates and its needs.
She was appointed to serve again on the Library Board of Trustees in July 2013. She was reappointed in June 2017. Her term expires June 2021.
Julie Balderson is a committed public servant with previous experience serving on boards and committees in the public and nonprofit sectors related to services for people with disabilities and education. Julie believes in the power of libraries to strengthen communities and is constantly looking for opportunities to support the library.
She was appointed to the Library Board of Trustees in August 2019. Her term expires June 2023.
Beth Lucas has been visiting the Carson City Library since childhood and believes our library is one of our community’s most valuable assets. After soaking up the library’s plentiful and free resources for several decades, she felt she wanted to contribute. When she’s not reading or enjoying being outdoors with her family, Beth works as a Certified Public Accountant with Casey Neilon.
She was appointed to serve on the Library Board of Trustees in November 2019 and reappointed in June 2020. Her term expires June 2024.
