CARSON CITY, Nev. (Nov. 23, 2020) – To ensure the safety and well-being of its patrons, the Carson City Library will temporarily close starting Nov. 24, 2020, in response to the Governor’s statewide three-week pause and the elevated COVID-19 concerns especially for persons at risk.

To support cardholders, any items currently checked will have return dates extended. As is customary, the Carson City Library does not charge overdue fines and any replacement charges for long-overdue items will be waived when the items are returned. For convenience, the library’s two book drops, at the front of the library and the drive-up at the back, are available for return of materials at any time.

“While we are all doing our part, we felt it was important for the library to take this step to ensure the safety and health of our community,” said Carson City Library Director Tod Colegrove. “We will continue to be available by phone and online providing digital resources and virtual programs for our patrons.”
