The Carson City Library was open on Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 19th, 2024. Originally celebrated in honor of George Washington’s birthday, Presidents’ Day has evolved to include both George Washington’s and Abraham Lincoln’s birthdays into one holiday, celebrated by most states on the 3rd Monday of February and opened up to celebrate all past U.S. presidents. While this is the holiday that most celebrate, officially the holiday remains a nod to George Washington alone.

The Carson City Library joined in the festivities with patrons having fun building “log” cabins, taking selfies with Stubraham (our skeleton named Stuart dressed up as Abraham Lincoln), and posing with their faces on Mt. Rushmore! We also had the Digitorium set up with videos on all the TVs of various presidential estates and museums.
