The week of March 4-March 8 was National Wildlife Week! Every year communities around the country celebrate our diverse ecosystems and the plants and animals that live there. Individuals are encouraged to learn more about how we can save endangered species and conserve our natural habitats. In 1938, National Wildlife Week started as a program from the National Wildlife Federation to educate people on ways to protect our precious resources and to promote safe and respectful outdoor activities.

The Carson City Library celebrated by creating a Virtual Zoo in the Digitorium which showcased video streams of live animals from all over the world and crafts to go with each region. We also hosted a special Food Chain Stacking Cup craft program, specially themed storytimes, and themed crafts on the children’s craft table.
