Spring is upon us! (or it is supposed to be). Thursday, March 28th at 12pm, the Carson City Library will be hosting a “egg basket” decorating program for ages 12 and under. This program is to prepare kids for the Egg Hunt on Saturday! Even though the weather forecast calls for rain and snow on Saturday, the Hunt must go on! (just indoors). Brave the cold and wet to get to the library and participate on Saturday, March 30th at 11am.

According to various sources, the Easter egg likely came to America in the 1700s by way of German immigrants. Children would make nests in which the Easter Bunny would lay colorfully decorated eggs. On Easter, the Bunny would deliver the eggs to well-behaved children. Later on, baskets replaced nests and candy and toys were added to the Easter Bunny’s gift options.
