Honoring a Legacy of Service
For many years, Phil and Phyllis Patton have played a vital role in strengthening the Carson City Library through their leadership and advocacy. Their commitment to literacy, lifelong learning, and community engagement has helped shape the Library into the vibrant gathering place it is today.
Through their work with the Friends of the Carson City Library, the Pattons have championed fundraising efforts and supported initiatives that expand access to programs, resources, and services for residents of all ages. A Community Gathering Space
The newly named Phyllis and Phil Patton Community Room will continue to serve as one of the Library’s primary spaces for public programs, presentations, workshops, and community meetings. Over the years, the room has hosted a wide range of events—from educational lectures and cultural presentations to family programs and community discussions.
By dedicating this space in honor of the Pattons, the Library celebrates the spirit of community engagement that the room represents. The space will remain a place where residents can gather to learn, share ideas, and connect with one another.
