At the Carson City Library, we believe everyone deserves access to stories, information, and entertainment- no matter their circumstances. Our Homebound Delivery Service is designed to make that possible for community members who are unable to visit the library in person.
What Is the Homebound Program?
The Homebound program provides personalized library service right to your doorstep. Once a month, a dedicated library staff member carefully selects materials based on your interests and delivers them directly to you—while also picking up items from the previous month.
This service is available to patrons who:
- Live within Carson City
- Are unable to leave their home or do not have transportation to the library
A Personalized Reading Experience
One of the most special parts of this service is the thoughtful selection process. After you share your preferences—favorite genres, authors, or formats—our staff curates a collection just for you. It’s like having your own personal librarian!
Available materials include:
- Standard print books
- Large print books
- Audiobooks
- Movies and TV shows on DVD
- Music
Whether you’re looking for a gripping mystery, a heartwarming romance, or a classic film, we’ll do our best to bring something you’ll love.
How It Works
Once enrolled:
- A staff member selects materials tailored to your interests
- Items are checked out to your account
- Your selections are delivered to your home once a month
- At the same time, we collect any items you’re returning
