Carson City residents love to read and you came out in record numbers during our Carson City Library Summer Reading Challenge “Around the World” that ran from June 17 to August 12, 2023.
In total, 715,558 minutes were clocked during that time. Nearly 500 participants registered with over 200 completing the challenge.
During our wrap-up party, attendees participated in rock painting, explored our Virtual Reality and Virtual Museum stations along with a completion bag pick-up station with Kona Ice serving up snow cones in the parking lot (thanks, Kona Ice!).
If you loved the Summer Reading Challenge as a first timer or you plan on it every year, mark your calendar for our Winter Reading Challenge, “Warm Up to Winter,” running from Dec. 16, 2023 through Jan. 13, 2024.
Next up, the Carson City Library is attending BOOnanza again this year. Stop by for lots of fun tricks and treats. The event takes place at Mills Park, Thursday, Oct. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m.
In the meantime, visit our digital offerings or stop by one of our events.
