September Library Events
Story Time:
Story Time is held on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:15 and repeats at 10:45. For additional information regarding Story Time, please call 887-2244, ext. 1006.
September Events:
- The library will be closed on Monday, September 6th, in observance of Labor Day.
- Crochet & Knitting Workshop, each Wednesday, 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the library auditorium.
- Department of Child and Family Services Community Information Workshop, Thursday, September 2nd, beginning at 5:00 p.m., in the library auditorium. This workshop will provide information on becoming a licensed foster and/or adoptive parent.
- Love on a Leash, Saturday, September 4th, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., in the library auditorium. Specially trained therapy dogs will be available for children of all ages to read to, pet, and visit with. Children who read to the dogs will get a free book.
- Friends of the Carson City Library Book Sale, Friday, September 10th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 11th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in the library auditorium. http://friendscclibrary.org/
- Interior Design by Doreen Mack, Tuesday, September 14th, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in the library auditorium. Doreen, owner of lofty expressions, inc. will answer your interior design questions in this creative workshop. http://loftyexpressions.com/
- Teen Book Club, Thursday, September 16th, from 3:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. This month, teens will select their October book choice. Pizza, too!
- Teen Advisory Board Meeting, Friday, September 17th, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
- Lego Club, Saturday, September 18th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon. Sign-Up at the Youth Desk.
- Film presentation of "2010", Monday, September 20th, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in the library auditorium.
- Vamos a Platicar/Let's Talk, Wednesday, September 22nd, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is a program where community members can practice conversation in English and/or Spanish at their own pace.
- Bi-Lingual Story Time, Thursday, September 23rd, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Listen to a story both in English and in Spanish. Crafts and refreshments are provided after the story.
- New Youth Book Club, Saturday, September 25th, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Book choice is Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo.
- The myth of 2010 presented by Michael Thomas, Monday, September 27th, at 6:00 p.m., in the library auditorium.
- Capital City Arts Initiative presents Nevada Neighbors XXXI, Wednesday, September 29th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Lorraine Gilbert presents True North: Canada Art & Entertainment, in the library auditorium. http://www.arts-initiative.org/
- Explore the World @ Your Library, Thursday, September 30th, at 6:00 p.m., in the library auditorium. Johanna Soliday presents South Africa.
